Three dimensions

Alongside the paintings, Luis Andrés Gleixner works in three dimensions — cast-aluminum forms and dense matchstick assemblages that carry the same preoccupation with matter, balance and the trace of the hand.

Cast metal holds the memory of fire and pour; the matchsticks gather by the thousand into rings and rounds. Each piece sits on a raw wooden base, keeping the tension between the made object and the material it was made from.
